It's rich, it's creamy, it's delicious ... and, like all good things in life, it's loaded with fat and calories. One cup of Egg Nog can set you back 343 calories and 19 g of fat, and that's without the booze. With a shot of rum, that number jumps to well over 400 calories per cup. Make it like my mom makes it with whipped cream and so much rum that you can hardly taste anything else? Well, I can only imagine. Light egg nog is better -- but not by much. A cup has 280 calories and 4 g of fat.

Try SoyNog, it really tastes great, has NO EGGS, and is low in calories. Not only that, it is good for you, because soy fights cancer and is nutritious.

'scuse me Light eggnog has 4g of fat as compared to 19 but it is not that much better!!! sounds like someone is getting a little carried away with trying to determine what people choose to celebrate their holidays with. 4 grams as a celebratory drink is a hell of a lot better than 19 grams. i do not think I will read the rest of this. The blogger obviously flunked math.

I think people need to take this thing a little lighter. No one's saying you *can't* drink egg nog or any of the other things - just giving you the facts. Chill out and give these people a little credit for doing the research so you don't have to.
Also - light egg nog may only have 4 grams of fat, but that's nothing compared to the calorie count - 280 calories as compared to 343 is not all that much of a difference in the scheme of things.
But, like mentioned above, no one's saying you can't make the choice yourself. If you want to drink the egg nog, go ahead; no one will deprive you of it. But now you can at least make an informed decision, knowing how much fat and how many calories are in it!
