thanksgiving cornacopia If you are feeling both the pain and the gain of your over the top but oh-so-worth-it Thanksgiving gobbling, or if the thought of doing it all over again in a month is just too much to bear, here are a few ways to prep your body for holiday feast round two : Christmas Edition. You don't necessarily need fancy procedures or powders to give yourself a good detox, just stick to these foods in order cleanse, flush, and replenish just in time to do it again.

Eat Seeds. While they won't completely undo the effects of all those eggnogs (or the embarrassing moments that resulted from drinking them) sesame seeds are a great way to make amends with your liver. Sprinkle the seeds into any recipe or try tahini, the concentrated paste version.

Go Green. Green leafy vegetables are essential for getting rid of the extra sugar from your diet and for counteracting that extra slice of pumpkin pie. These veggies also help remove toxins from your blood, so stock up on cabbage, kale, arugula, cauliflower, and other leafy greens.

Liquefy. The faucet is your friend. Make sure you are getting at least eight cups of water a day to help kick start your cleansing process. Green tea is another great drink that helps eliminate toxins from your blood and flush them from your system.

Garlicky Goodness. Garlic activates your liver to help flush out toxins. It also boosts your heart and lowers your blood pressure in the process. Warning: following your garlicky meal with a candy cane to freshen breath will undo the helpful effects.
