1. Cut 5 hearts the same size from different colors of construction paper. Fold in half.
2. Cut letters and words from colored paper and magazines to spell out a 5-word message.
3. Glue 1 word inside each heart. Tape hearts in a row at back edges.
Victorian Card
Try this fun take on a traditional Victorian Valentine's Day card.
Materials:
- Parchment or construction paper
- Craft knife
- Pinking shears
- Colored paper and magazines for cutouts
- Glue stick or rubber cement
1. Trace your hand on paper and draw a 3"-long triangular cuff at the wrist. Cut out with craft knife; trim cuff with pinking shears.
2. Cut a 1 1/2" x 2" heart from folded colored paper with pinking shears. Leave heart folded and fold it again diagonally; snip about 1" at center of diagonal fold with pinking shears.
3. Glue to hand cutout.
4. Pencil in 2 bands across back, one 1/2" wide just below palm and the other 5/8" wide, near lower edge. Cut a row of X's along each band, leaving a tiny space between the X's at top and bottom. Slip a strip of paper through each band, leaving diamonds showing between X's on front. Cut a wedge in ends of strips.
5. Print message across cuff.
