place card, table setting, green

The only thing missing from this pretty fall-inspired table setting is a modern place card. We'll show you how to get the look! Photo: Sifu Renka, Flickr

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, partly because you get to eat a ton, but also because there isn't the stress of gifts hanging over your head. For this reason, I usually use my spare time to create fun, personalized decorations for table settings, centerpieces and various decor around my home. To me, it's the perfect time of year to cuddle up indoors and make something. This year, I've got Quilled Fall Leaf Place Cards on my to-do list.

I think these are incredibly adorable, and modern enough to go with any color scheme and table setting. The materials are simple enough (good thing, considering I'm an amateur crafter at best!). Why not surprise your Thanksgiving hostess and offer to create place cards for her guests? She'll love the gesture, and you'll get to channel a bit of that decorative energy into something useful.

Besides, place cards allow for less rearranging, which means you can seat yourself next to your favorite cousin or your cute neighbor next door (come on -- we all do it!).
