Whew. Hallmark is really on a roll. With weird holidays popping up faster than
Balloon Boy rumors, it's only a matter of time before greeting card companies jump on the bandwagon. The very green, recycled bandwagon, that is. After all,
America Recycles Day is November 15th.
It's not a joke. Apparently, America needs a designated day to recycle, because the other 364 days? Well, they just don't count. Now in its 12th year (really?!), America Recycles Day (affectionately nicknamed
ARD), is "is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products," according to the official website.
I'm laughing, and yeah, I know, the Earth is nothing to joke about. But, if there's one day I can make fun of the fact that we now have a holiday dedicated to
recycling, I'll bet ARD is it.
Happy recycling to you!
