Oh technology, what would we do without you? Perhaps step away from the computer and pay attention to our kids on Christmas Eve?

Oh wait, we don't have to! The NORAD Santa Tracker is going mobile this year. So while you're mumbling curse words at the dashboard driving over the river and through the woods, you can keep track of the fat man in the red suit with your OnStar subscription.

Or, as CNet put it, you can stalk Santa from your car.

The feds have been keeping tabs on Santa's whereabouts for more than 50 years, and these days kids can watch his movements in 3D with the help of Google Earth. They have to wait until the 24th, but a virtual advent calendar on the NORAD site lets them check out Santa's village for activity every day through Christmas Eve and NORAD's Facebook page and Twitter keep them up to date in real time.

And after all that build up, you think you can just throw the kids in the car on the big night and they'll sleep through your cursing the driver in front of you? Just turn the OnStar up really loud -- the Santa updates will keep them distracted.
