Band Aid's "Do They Know it's Christmas" was released twenty-five years ago this Christmas season. The project, headed up by Boomtown Rats frontman Bob Geldof, raised an astounding $14 million for famine relief in Africa.

For those youngsters out there who don't recognize the big names of 1984 in this video, they are, in order of verse-singing appearance: Paul Young, Boy George, George Michael, Simon le Bon, and U2's Bono. Phil Collins is on drums, and singing the chorus are David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Geldof, and many more. The profits from Wham!'s "Last Christmas" also went toward the Band Aid effort.
