Noah's Ark is a perfect theme for the nursery -- and for the baby shower, too!
Invitations: Send them at least a month before the event, let everyone know about the baby shower well in advance. If you want to send invitations by mail, choose Noah's Ark Baby Shower Invitations or go with simple invitations with animals on them. If you would prefer to gather all the RSVPs online, send out an email invitation.
When you are filling out the invitation, make sure to include the date, time, place, host(s), and how people should RSVP. If you are sending them by mail, provide two ways for guests to RSVP, such as a phone number and an email address, or multiple phone numbers for showers with multiple hosts.
Decorations: Now comes the fun part! Decorating for a baby shower allows you to be as creative as you want to be. Whether you are showering the mother-to-be out at a restaurant or hall or at a family or friend's house, make sure that you work with the Noah's Ark theme. Start by hanging Noah's Ark Dangling Swirls from the light fixtures or ceiling if you can reach it. If there is empty space on the walls at the party venue, purchase some Noah's Ark Stick On Wall Decorations to scatter around.Cover each table with a blue table cloth to mimic the flood. At each guest's place setting, put a hand painted ark or a Noah's Ark Shower Place Card. You can also purchase Noah's Ark balloons -- tie one to every other chair or attach a small bunch to the guest of honor's seat.
Food: Serve food with animal names, or serve items in pairs, since Noah brought two of each of the animals on his arc. Have bowls of animal crackers on the table for guests to snack on. Start off the meal with pigs in a blanket. Then serve a mixed garden salad for two for guests to share. For the main dish, try the Two Way Duck. The finale: a Noah's Ark cake made of cupcakes.
Gift ideas: If you would like to extend the Noah's Ark baby shower theme to the gifts, suggest that each guest bring a gift that has something to do with an animal that was on the ark. It could be a book, a small stuffed toy, clothing with that animal's picture, etc. You can also buy her a Noah's Ark shower memory book so that she can record all the important things about her shower, having the baby, and the days that follow.
Games: Have all the guests participate in the matching game. Hand each guest a card from the Noah's Ark Game Challenge Cards. Each guest will then have a different type of animal. Have the mom-to-be select one of the animals. The guest or guests that have that card can win a small prize. If you have a really outgoing party, have each guest select a card at the beginning of the game; ask for volunteers to stand and act out the animal on their cards for a quick game of charades.
Climb aboard for a shower of fun!
