To make a Michelada you'll need a 12 ounce bottle of Mexican beer, limes (about 1.5 per serving), soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, and kosher salt.
1. First, wet the rim of a large glass with a lime wedge, then roll the rim on a plate of kosher salt to cover.
2. Roll 1-2 limes under the palm of your hand (you'll release more juices this way) and squeeze the juice into the glass.
3. Now add the rest of the spices. The combination is personal, but a good recipe to follow is 1 splash of soy sauce, 1 splash of Tabasco sauce, and 2 splashes of Worcestershire sauce. Stir.
4. Add ice and up to 12 ounces of cold beer and enjoy.
Another variation on this drink is a Chelada; this drink just has the salt-rimmed glass and lime juice and beer, so skip step 3 to make.

To Kendra Smoot (the reporter): your pronuncer written out for this drink is totally INCORRECT.
In Spanish, "ch" is a letter of it sown, as in "cha-cha" and "chihuahua."
Correct Spanish pronunciation would be "mee-chay-LAH-tha." It's not like "Michelob," which is GERMAN.

Most people aren't aware of the almost unbelievable deals that they can get from penny auction sites. I know I found the best site, Http://bit.ly/OnlineAuctionDeals They auction off brand new, factory sealed, popular products such as iPads, Macbooks, HDTVs, Digital Cameras, Gaming Consoles, and more for steep discounts of 75%, 80%, or even 85% off retail price, and shipping is free. I did all my Christmas shopping there and saved big time.

I have been living in Mexico for about 8 years and yes, there is such a drink. Just to clear the air, the name of the drink is pronounced me-che-La-da not (me-kay-LA-da). Yes there is a "ch" sound to it, not "K". Any Mexican bar will serve it when you pronounce it right! Enjoy!

I'll jump on board with everyone else. I'm a Texan, and Lord knows, we know how to mangle the Spanish language. But the rest of your commenters are correct: it's not a hard K sound in michelada. In fact, even the "ch" is soft. More like "mee-shay-la-da." I'd even argue with your placement of the accent on LA.

I had one of these, it was pronounced MARG A REETA. I think it was tequila though.
